Our Programs

Youth Council

We are a collective of diverse youth leaders who are giving voice to our history, culture, and unique civic, and social issues in our community, and schools.

Southwest LEARNS

We take initiative in creating space for learning in Southwest neighborhoods. Each month, we host a presentation and discussion on topics that are relevant to the residents of Southwest Detroit.

TANN

We are a task force of organized residents who work in partnership with school principals and parent organizations in promoting safety and education for our children.

Anti-Gentrification

We are working in the Southwest Detroit neighborhoods of Mexicantown, Hubbard Farms, Hubbard Richard, Corktown and North Corktown to mitigate the negative impacts of gentrification and support the neighborhood associations.

TANN-Action Team

We are an extended branch from Taking Action por Nuestro Niños (TANN). Members who have completed TANN started this program, which focuses on advocacy.

Early Childhood

We are working with parents and informal child care providers in various ways to support healthy development of Southwest Detroit’s young children.

The Detroit Creative Society

A youth and young adults council focused on bridging a relationship between Corktown and Mexicantown through creating and supporting events that highlight the arts and cultural communities in the city of Detroit.

Youth-Driven Community Center

We are working with youth and the community in order to create a space that advocates for community organizing. It is a space for youth by youth and is currently in the process of being renovated.
