OUR PROGRAMS
A council of high school students who meet weekly to build community, explore and share their cultural history, learn about social justice, and work on a project that will benefit both them and their communities!
We are a task force of organized residents who work in partnership with school principals and parent organizations in promoting safety and education for our children.
Informal Caregivers
Description coming soon!
A biweekly program made up of high school students from Southwest Detroit. From hands-on experiences like planting in CoC’s community garden to engaging workshops covering topics like environmental privilege, indigenous healing, and recycling, this program offers a comprehensive learning experience for those passionate about nature!
We are an extended branch of TANN. Members who have completed TANN started this program, which focuses on advocacy.
Anti-Gentrification
We are working in the Southwest Detroit neighborhoods of Mexicantown, Hubbard Farms, Hubbard Richard, Corktown and North Corktown to mitigate the negative impacts of gentrification and support the neighborhood associations.
Early Childhood
We are working with parents and informal child care providers in various ways to support healthy development of Southwest Detroit’s young children.
The Detroit Creative Society
A youth and young adults council focused on bridging a relationship between Corktown and Mexicantown through creating and supporting events that highlight the arts and cultural communities in the city of Detroit.
